Our Projects

SK9

Prior to our tender being submitted, we were briefed from the client that should we be successful with our tender, only the best quality workmanship would be acceptable. We were delighted to hear we had won the tender to extend this prestigious property in this affluent neighbourhood.

One particular issue we had with this project was sourcing then mixing the reclaimed bricks accordingly to match the existing. The property had only been constructed approximately fifteen years beforehand, along with a small number of neighbouring properties and had been built from a huge mixture of different types of reclaimed brick. The existing brickwork was a mixture of hand made & wire cut bricks. It also had a smattering of different size bricks, different colours & shades and also had a number tarnished with paint and whitewash etc. Our instruction was to build the extension 'so it doesn't look like an extension, it needs to look like it was built with the rest of the property at the same time'. The mortar match was also an issue in that it had to be an exact match to the existing.

We were delighted with the final outcome of the brickwork, as was the client and also with the rest of the finished product.

Testimonial

Leafield did an excellent job with the build quality, and finished on time and on budget. Two years on we continue to be delighted with the work, with no remedial actions required. I have and will continue to recommend them
